The Chairman of Funtua Local Government, Alhaji Abdulmutallab Jibrin Sulaiman Goya, has pledged continued support to the Association of Persons with Special Needs in the local government area in order to strengthen their activities and improve the welfare of their members.
The Chairman made this known through his Adviser on Persona with Special Needs and Special Education, Alhaji Sha’aibu Abdullahi, during the commemoration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, held today, Wednesday, 03/12/2025 in the council chamber.
He noted that he had already supported some members of the association with educational sponsorships and medical assistance, while assuring that more support will be provided in the future.
Alhaji Abdulmutallab Jibrin Sulaiman Goya emphasized the importance of unity and cooperation among members of the association to achieve progress and success in their activities.
A statement signed by the local government information officer Bashir Yero said the chairman also urged them to enlighten their members on the importance of obtaining a voter’s card, as it remains the only effective tool for protecting their interests and securing proper representation.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Association of Persons with Special Needs in Funtua Local Government, Malam Ahmad Tukur, expressed gratitude for appointing one of their members as a special adviser, and pledged that the association would continue to contribute toward the success of the administration.
Malam Ahmad Tukur further appealed to the Chairman of Funtua Local Government council to provide them with office accommodation and inclusion of Persons with Special needs in relevant government plans and programs.
