In Katsina state,the funtua local government education secretary Hajia Maryam Babajo has reiterated her commitments towards reviving primary education in the area.
She disclosed this during an interview with newsmen in her office .
Hajiya Maryam Babajo said since her assumption in office she embarked on familiarization visits to various primary schools across funtua local govt area.
The education secretary said during the visit she was able to meet with both students, teachers as well as the parents where she encourage them on the importance of education.
Hajia Maryam Babajo pointed out that there where some lapses which needed to be addressed with immediate effect especially the delapidated nclassrooms, provision of furnitures, and deployment of competent teachers.
The education secretary explained that plans are in the pipe line to establish an education endowment fund that will cater for the education of orphans and the less privilege children in funtua local govt.
Hajia maryam Babajo further explained that there is the need for wealthy individuals and all stakeholders to assist in helping the less privilege as far as education is concerned.
The education secretary commended the state governor Dr Dikko Umar radda PhD con for the establishment of the smart school program in the state,adding that funtua local education authority had provided all necessary supposed while proposing the pupils.
