The Coalition of Civil Societies in Funtua has honoured over twenty illustrious sons of funtua in a ground breaking ceremony held in labaran kaura conference hall funtua.
The ceremony which is well attended by top politicians, educationists, entrepreneurs,scholars and well to do personalities was presided over by the Sarkin Maskan Katsina district head of Funtua Alh Sambo Idris Sambo.
In a welcome address the chairman of Funtua Coalition of Civil Societies, Alh Salisu Amadu dankoli said the objective of the organisation is to bring all unions and associations under one umbrella with a view to achieving progress and fine turning developmental activities in the area.
Alh Salisu Amadu dankoli explained that it is through such cooperation and support that so many developmental programmes where realized,such as the formation of Funtua University of Health and Medical Science’s,the university teaching hospital,the Funtua mobile police unit among many others .
He said also as part of its activities through its members a lot of youth are provided with sources of livelihood while others are sponsored for their educational career.
The chairman who spoke at length on various achievements recorded commended the state governor Dr Dikko Umar radda PhD, Senator Muntari Mohamed dandutse,as well as several notable people in the area .
In his remarks the chairman organising committee Eng Tukur Lawal Funtua explained that the essence of honouring them is in recognition of their support and contributions towards the development of Funtua.He said the coalition has nothing to do with politics,hence political interests are ruled out of its manifest so as to avoid any rancour among others.
Eng Tukur Lawal Funtua expressed his appreciation to all those who attended the ceremony and urged the members to remain united for the success and progress of the Funtua community.Also in a vote of thanks the Sarkin Maskan Katsina district head of Funtua rejoiced with the celebrants and urged them to continue to contribute in all aspects of life so as to move the area forward.
Alh Sambo Idris Sambo also thanked the state governor Dr Dikko Umar radda PhD,the futntua Local Government Chairman ,Alh Abdu Goya , senator Muntari Mohamed dandutse and member representing Funtua state assembly hon Mohd total and that of house of representatives hon Mohd Gardi among several others.
Among the recipients of the honorary awards included,Alh Dr Umar mutallab con,rtd justice Amiru Sanusi,Dr Murtala sani adeleke,hon muntari dandutse,sarkin maska Alh sambo Idris sambo to mention but a few.
