The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Education, Zaria, Prof. Yahaya Isa Bunkure, has hosted a grand Iftar, bringing together members of the university community and key stakeholders in a spirit of unity, reflection, and interfaith harmony.

A statement signed by Sani Lawal maqarphy media aide to the VC said the event, held as part of the Ramadan observances, underscored themes of peace, love, and spiritual renewal.

In his address, Prof. Bunkure expressed appreciation to attendees and reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to strengthening relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

He recalled the warm reception he received upon assuming office, describing it as a testament to the collective goodwill driving the university’s growth.

Highlighting recent milestones, the Vice-Chancellor announced that the university is set to promote its first batch of approximately 48 professors, possibly as early as March.

The development marks a significant step in the institution’s transition into the university system and was received with optimism by participants

.Stakeholders who spoke at the gathering commended the Vice-Chancellor and his management team for fostering inclusiveness and sustaining peaceful relations between the university and its host communities.

The Iftar attracted a diverse audience, including traditional and religious leaders, university management, staff, security agencies, and other well-wishers.

The Emir of Zazzau, Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, was represented by Alhaji Aminu Zaki, Dangoruban Zazzau. Clergy from various denominations and representatives of paramilitary agencies were also in attendance, reflecting the broad support and goodwill enjoyed by the institution
