The Committee on Academic Staff Placement has submitted its final report on the placement of academic staff in the institution to the Vice Chancellor, Federal University of Education, Zaria (FUE Zaria), Prof. Yahaya Isa Bunkure.
The Committee, which was constituted by the University Management, was established to oversee the placement process of academic staff following the upgrade of the hitherto Federal College of Education, Zaria, to now Federal University of Education, Zaria.Presenting the report, the Chairman of the Committee,
Dr. Ibrahim Tanimu, accompanied by the Secretary, Mr. Peter Kuchaks, briefed the Vice Chancellor on the Committee’s activities and recommendations aimed at ensuring a seamless and effective placement of all academic staff from the College cadre to the University structure.
According to the report, Chief Lecturers with PhDs and reached 5 years on the rank will be placed in the Professorial cadre.Similarly, Principal Lecturers with PhDs and reached 3 years on the rank are to be placed as Readers, while lecturers in other ranks will be placed as Senior Lecturers down to the level of Assistant Lecturers, as applicable.
While receiving the report, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Yahaya Isa Bunkure, commended the Committee for its dedication, diligence, and professionalism demonstrated in completing the task assigned to it.
He assured that the submitted report will be forwarded to the University Council for consideration and final decision, noting that the placement exercise is necessary in consolidating the institution’s transition to full university status
