The Executive Chairman of Zaria Local Government, Engr. Jamil Ahmad Muhammad, undertook an extensive round of engagements across several wards within the Local Government Area, sharing in moments of joy and grief with members of the community.
The Chairman began the day by attending the wedding of Fatiha of Khadija, daughter of Nasiru Shehu (Excellency), who was married to Hon. Yunusa Musa Ibrahim Giwa at Gidan Danhanne, Unguwar Karfe, Kaura Ward.
He thereafter proceeded to the Palace of the Emir of Zazzau, where he represented the Leader of Kaduna State, His Excellency, the Executive Governor, Senator Uba Sani at the wedding ceremonies of Fatima and Ummu-Kulthum, daughters of Jarman Zazzau, Alhaji Mukhtar Ibrahim.
The event, which also featured another wedding, was attended by eminent personalities and distinguished traditional rulers, including the Emirs of Lere and Jama’a Emirates, and was held in the presence of His Highness, the Emir of Zazzau, Ambassador Malam Ahmad Nuhu Bamalli, CFR.The Chairman also attended the wedding Fatiha of Rahma, daughter of Alhaji Abubakar Maiwada, held at Gidan Mai Unguwa, Bishar, Kaura Ward.
Continuing his engagements, Engr. Jamil Ahmad attended the wedding ceremony of Malam Anas Kwangero at Kwarbai B Ward, where he joined family members, friends, and well-wishers in celebrating the joyous occasion.
At Tudun-Jukun Unity Quarters, the Chairman attended the wedding of Maryam Danladi, daughter of Alhaji Danladi Leader, where he served as the Waliyin Amarya (guardian of the bride).
Similarly, he attended a wedding ceremony at Gidan Mai Anguwa, Hayin Dogo, Wusasa, Kufena Ward, where he stood as the Wakilin Ango (representative of the groom) for Tasi’u Muhammad Sani. He also served in the same capacity at the wedding of Muhammad Sani (Mahmuda) held at Gidan Alhaji Adamu Aje, Limancin Kona.
Later in the evening, the Executive Chairman paid Ta’aziyyah (condolence) visits to bereaved families, including a visit to Low-Cost, Gyallesu Ward, following the passing of the elderly Alhaji Baban-Gimi, and another visit to Unguwar Nupawa, Limancin Kona Ward, over the death of the mother of Malama Fatima Abubakar.
Speaking on the engagements, Engr. Jamil Ahmad noted that sharing in the joys and sorrows of the people remains a core responsibility of leadership at the grassroots, reflecting the values of unity, compassion, and togetherness.
A statement signed by the chief press secretary office of the chairman Ishaq Galadima said that the Chairman also prayed for Allah’s blessings upon all the newlyweds, wishing them peaceful and prosperous homes, and asked Allah (SWT) to grant Aljannatul Firdaus to the departed souls
