The Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, has restated that education, skills and human capital development remain the core objectives of the partnership between the Gombe State Government and Lincoln University Malaysia.
A statement signed by Ismaila Uba Misili DG press affairs Government house said the Governor made this known during a welcome dinner hosted in his honour by the leadership of Lincoln University Malaysia as part of his official visit to the country.
Speaking at the event, Governor Inuwa Yahaya emphasized that the collaboration with Lincoln University is strategically designed to expand access to quality higher education, strengthen skills acquisition and build the human capital required to drive sustainable socio-economic development in Gombe State.
He stated that his administration is committed to fully implementing the partnership in line with established regulations and international best practices, ensuring that the partnership delivers measurable and long-term benefits to the people of Gombe State.
The President and Founder of Lincoln University, Professor Dr. Amiya Bhaumik, alongside the Chancellor, Professor Norman Madsen; Pro-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Hajia Bibi Abdullah Florina; and the Chief Executive Officer of Lincoln University Nigeria, Dr. Murtadho Alao, commended Governor Inuwa Yahaya for his strong leadership and steadfast support for the partnership.
They described the Gombe-Lincoln collaboration as a forward-looking model for strengthening higher education and global academic cooperation.
The welcome dinner was attended by the Chargé d’Affaires and Acting High Commissioner of Nigeria to Malaysia, Ambassador Sani Danlami and members of the Gombe delegation.
