As part of the Nigerian Army’s effort to enhance accountability, transparency and efficiency in projects execution within the Barracks.
The Director, Directorate of Inspection and Compliance (DIC) Major General Auwalu Mahmuda conducted projects inspection at the Nigerian Army School of Military Police (NASMP), Nigerian Army School of Legal Services( NASLS) and 11 Field Engineer Regiment (11 FER) in Basawa Barracks Zaria, Kaduna State on Monday 9 February 2026
.A statement signed by Lieutenant Uzoma Egwu Ukpai acting assistant director army public relations Nigerian army school of military police basawa said the Inspection is aimed at ensuring that ongoing projects in Basawa Barracks are properly implemented in line with the approved standards, guidelines of Nigerian Army and also to identify areas of improvement and changes.
During the inspection visit, Major General Mahmuda thanked the Commandant Nigerian Army School of Military Police (NASMP) Brigadier General Onalo Yakubu, Commandant NASLS Colonel Ehicheoya and Commanding Officer 11 FER Lieutenant Colonel Gowon for the warm reception accorded him and his team.
He urged them to continuously carry out effective supervision of the projects, to enhance the quality of infrastructures, in order to improve on the welfare of troops.
Making his remarks, the Commandant Nigerian Army School of Military Police, Brigadier General Onalo Yakubu expressed his gratitude to the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu for the multiple ongoing projects which will create more conducive atmosphere for officers and soldiers in Basawa barracks.
