The Speaker of the House of Representatives,RT Hon Dr Tajudeen Abbas has received the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Nigeria, Yusuf Ahmed Mohammed Al-Hail, at the NASS office in Abuja.
Discussions were warm, forward-looking, and deeply constructive – centred on strengthening the longstanding ties between Nigeria and Qatar, with particular emphasis on enhancing parliamentary cooperation.
Speaking while receiving the Ambassador,Dr Abbas noted that in a world where bridges are more valuable than walls, inter-parliamentary engagement remains a vital pathway for diplomacy, mutual learning, and shared prosperity.
He maintained that Nigeria and Qatar share a vision anchored on development, economic collaboration, and global peace, as such we will explored avenues to deepen legislative exchanges, foster institutional partnerships, and expand opportunities that will ultimately benefit our people.
According to the Speaker,”As part of this growing partnership, I look forward to undertaking an official visit to the State of Qatar in the second quarter of the year – a step that will further consolidate our bilateral relations and open new doors of collaboration.
The Speaker said “Diplomacy thrives not merely on agreements signed, but on relationships built. Today’s engagement marks another steady stride in Nigeria’s expanding global partnerships”.
