Sequel to the directive of the Chairman, Zaria Local Government Council, Engr. Jamil Ahmad Muhammad (Jaga), the Speaker of the Zaria Local Government Legislative Council, Rt. Hon. Auwal M. Balarabe, presided over the inaugural meeting of the Committee on Agriculture, held to strengthen the Council’s collaboration with the SNEEM Project.

It said the meeting focused on fostering effective partnership between the Zaria Local Government Council and the SNEEM Project in key areas such as climate-smart agriculture, sustainable natural resource management, environmental conservation, and community-driven livelihood development.
The discussions also emphasized the empowerment of local farmers through modern agricultural techniques, improved extension services, and access to innovative farming technologies.

Also in attendance were all the thirteen Ward Councillors of Zaria Local Government Area, who participated as ward representatives, reflecting the Council’s inclusive and grassroots-driven approach to agricultural development.
The committee underscored the importance of synergy between the Local Government Council, SNEEM Project officials, and community-based farming associations to achieve tangible results in agricultural development. Members agreed to develop a joint action framework that will guide collaborative initiatives, training programs, and monitoring processes to ensure accountability and sustainability in all project-driven activities.
