Kebbi State Government, has approved the constitution of a special committee to investigate the unfortunate death of two children at General Hospital, Zuru in Zuru local government area of the state.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Alhaji Yakubu Bala Tafida and made available to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi, the state capital.
According to the statement, the committee is composed of the Commissioner for Information and culture Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed BK as Chairman, the Commissioner for Health Alhaji Sama’ila Augie and the Commissioner for Establishment Alhaji Manu Dogondaji as Members while the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Dr. Zaki Abubakar Zaki will serve as Secretary.
The statement added that, the terms of reference of the committee are to investigate the remote and immediate causes of the death of the two children, who are from the same father; identify all those directly or indirectly connected with the incident, in line with allegations that they were victims of a wrongful injection allegedly administered to them.
The committee has been given one week to submit its report and has been directed to commence work immediately without delayand to make recommendations to avert future occurrences.
