CORPS COMMANDER ORDNANCE LEADS STRATEGIC CONFERENCE TO IMPROVE MILITARY UNIFORM QUALITY

The Corps Commander, Ordnance, Major General Abdullahi Garba Ibrahim, on 11 February 2026, presided over the Conference of Commanders and Commanding Officers of Ordnance Tailoring Factories at the Major General D Duniya Conference Room, Headquarters Nigerian Army Ordnance Corps, Abati Barracks, Ojuelegba, Lagos.

In his opening remarks, Major General Ibrahim expressed profound appreciation to the Special Guest of Honour and resource persons, Brigadier General Rorbert Olatokunbo Cole (Rtd), for honouring the invitation to deliver an insightful session lecture titled Effective Management of Tailoring Factories for Enhanced Support to the Nigerian Army Operations aimed at improving and elevating tailoring standards across the Corps.

The Corps Commander reminded Commanders and Commanding Officers of Ordnance Tailoring Factories their critical responsibility as the operational arm of the Corps’ transformation drive, emphasizing that their efforts must align with the Chief of Army Staff Command Philosophy, which seeks

“To Advance the Transformation of Nigerian Army into a more Professional, Adaptable, Combat Ready and Resilient Force Capable of Effectively Discharging its Constitutional Responsibilities within a Joint and Multi-agency Environment”.

He noted that his Leadership Focus is anchored on this COAS Command Philosophy Major General Ibrahim further highlighted that military uniforms represent a fundamental element of professionalism, adaptability, and resilience in the Nigerian Army.

He stressed that the quality, fit, and durability of uniforms produced by the OTF will either support or hinder the ongoing transformation of the Service.

The Corps Commander urged Commanders and Commanding Officers to leverage the wealth of experience and practical knowledge of Brigadier General Cole (Rtd), learn from his leadership insights, and apply relevant lessons within their respective commands in support of the Corps’ collective drive for excellence.

Highlights of the conference included the presentation of souvenirs, a group photograph session, the unveiling of The Indent Checkers Harbour (formerly known as the Officers’ Cool Room), guided tour of the Headquarters Nigerian Army Ordnance Corps Complex amongst others.
