In Zamfara State, Governor, Dr. Dauda Lawal, has urged corps members posted to the state to emulate the achievements of his administration in various sectors of human development.
Governor Lawal gave the charge during the opening ceremony of the NYSC 2025 Batch B Stream II orientation course, held at the Temporary Orientation Camp, Bypass, Gusau.
A statement signed by Aliyu Suleiman Gusau, information officer of the state ministry of youths and sport development said the Governor was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, Alhaji Nasiru Galadima Kaura.
It added that the governor has assured the corps members of his administration’s unwavering commitment to the welfare and security of all residents of Zamfara State, including the corps members serving in different parts of the state.
It said the Governor encouraged the corps members to deploy their knowledge, energy, and creativity in schools, health centres, and rural communities to make meaningful contributions.
He expressed optimism that this new set – the 2025 Batch B Stream II corps members – will sustain and even surpass the positive impact made by their predecessors.
Governor Lawal also highlighted ongoing reforms and investments in the education and health sectors, stating that his administration has embarked on renovation and upgrading of schools and hospitals, recruitment of additional medical personnel, and expansion of healthcare services in rural areas to ensure access to quality and affordable healthcare.
He further commended the NYSC scheme for its vital role in national unity and development, and reassured that:
“Corps members posted to Zamfara State will continue to receive their state allowances without interruption, along with additional incentives for those serving in critical sectors like health and education.”
Earlier, in his welcome address, the State NYSC Coordinator, Mallam Muhammad Ahmad Lawal, applauded Governor Dauda Lawal for his administration’s prompt payment of corps members’ allowances and continued support for the NYSC scheme in the state.
He also appealed for further infrastructural development within the temporary orientation camp to enhance the experience of corps members during orientation exercises.
