The Commander 301 Artillery Regiment (General Support) Colonel Suobor Beke, on Tuesday, 24 February 2026, received the Vice-Chancellor Federal University of Kashere, Professor Mohammed Inuwa Ja’afar and his entourage on a familiarisation visit to the Headquarters 301 Artillery Regiment (General Support), Gombe State.
The Commander expressed his pleasure during the visit and reiterated the Regiment’s unwavering commitment to the safety of lives and property within its Areas of Responsibility.
He emphasized that the Nigerian Army(NA) remains proactive in addressing matters concerning security and will also continue to deploy necessary resources to support the security of students in Gombe.
In a statement signed by Lieutenant Kingsley Ugwuoke, Assistant Director Army public relations 301 Artillery regiment, (GS)Gombe said the Commander further emphasized on the need for a robust synergy towards an enhanced security architecture in the state and assured the delegation of a sustained collaboration between the Regiment and the University.
During the interactive session, the Vice-Chancellor underscored the importance accorded to security in the state and particularly in the University.
He further explored the need of strengthening the relationship between the University and the NA especially when it comes to security.
”We should strengthen the relationship especially when it comes to the security of lives and property of students. We are happy that the presence of troops has boosted the confidence in the general area”
He remarked.Prof Ja’afar further requested for an increased collaboration in tackling the existing and emerging security challenges in the University.
The highlights of the visit include the endorsement of the Visitors’ register by the Vice Chancellor and the presentation of souvenirs.
