The Chief of Policy and Plans (Army), Major General Bamidele Alabi, on 4 March 2026 paid a visit to the Depot NA Amasiri-Edda Temporary Training Area located within the Jaji Military Cantonment in Kaduna State.
During the visit, the Commandant, Depot NA Amasiri-Edda, Brigadier General AM Ahmadu, briefed the Chief of Policy and Plans (Army) on the activities of the Depot.
A statement signed by Captain Sarah Seth Barka Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations Depot Nigerian Army Amasiri-Edda said the briefing covered the operationalisation of the temporary training area, the current training focus of the Depot, and other key operational matters related to the ongoing training of recruits.
In his remarks, Major General Alabi commended the Commandant and his team for what he described as the remarkable transformation of the temporary training site.
He noted that although the location was initially conceived as a temporary facility, it had been effectively developed into a conducive and befitting environment for the proper training of recruits.
He further observed that the Depot is strategically located within a cluster of reputable military training institutions and encouraged the Commandant to leverage the presence of these institutions to further enhance the quality and effectiveness of training.
The Chief of Policy and Plans (Army) also expressed appreciation to the Commandants of training institutions within and around Jaji for their continued support to the Commandant of Depot NA Amasiri-Edda.
He particularly commended Brigadier General Ahmadu for his strategic approach to training and acknowledged the significant progress achieved within the relatively short period since the establishment of the temporary training area.
