The Chief of Civil-Military Affairs (CCMA), Nigerian Army, Major General Musa Awwal Etsu-Ndagi, on Wednesday, 11 February 2026, received members of the National Executive Council of the Nigeria Military School (NMS) Ex-Boys Association at the Army Headquarters Department of Civil-Military Affairs, Abuja.
In his remarks, the National President of the Association, Ex-Boy Mohammed Baba Marte, stated that the visit was deliberate and significant, as it reflected the Association’s appreciation of the strategic role of the Department of Civil-Military Affairs in modern military operations and national development.
He also expressed the Association’s respect for the leadership of the Chief of Civil-Military Affairs in strengthening the relationship between the Nigerian Army and the civil populace.
Ex-Boy Mohammed further stated that over the years, the Association has recorded significant milestones in support of the Nigeria Military School, both individually and collectively.
Notable among these achievements are the renovation of the NMS Dining Hall, remodeling of the cookhouse, and construction of a modern outdoor kitchen executed by the NMS Ex-Boys Association.
Other projects include the construction of a block of six modern classrooms, fully furnished with interactive smart boards, by the immediate past Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel I. Ogalla (Rtd); the construction and commissioning of the new Boy Provost Marshal’s accommodation by Ex-Boy Rear Admiral Kamarudeen Lawal (Rtd) and the NMS Ex-Boys of the Provost Corps (NMS 78 to NMS 05 sets); renovation of the NMS Boy Regimentation Sergeant Major’s accommodation by Brigadier General M. L. Abubakar and Navy Commodore A. Shehu; and the “Light Up NMS” solar streetlight project executed by members of the NMS 89 Set.
A statement signed by Major Ojo Ifedayo Adenegan Acting Director, Information Management Army Headquarters Department of Civil-Military Affairs Abuja ,said similarly, a block of five classrooms (JSS 2 Block) was remodeled by the NMS 81 Set, as well as a block of six JSS 3 classrooms, which was fully equipped with modern facilities.
He also disclosed the Association’s plan to embark on another landmark legacy initiative — the NMS Heritage Centre Project and Ex-Boys Alumni Secretariat.
The project is envisioned to serve as the administrative headquarters of the NMS Ex-Boys Association; preserve and showcase the rich history, traditions, and achievements of the Nigeria Military School and its Ex-Boys; provide a structured platform for mentorship, research, alumni engagement, and institutional memory; and serve as a symbol of unity, continuity, and service across generations of Ex-Boys.
The Association hopes to formally launch the project during the 72nd Anniversary of the Nigeria Military School on 20 May 2026.
In his response, the Chief of Civil-Military Affairs commended the Association and its members for their laudable achievements and pledged his support for further initiatives.
He urged the Association to intensify career talks with students of the school in order to broaden their knowledge when choosing future careers.
He also emphasized the need to establish a Trust Fund to assist fellow Ex-Boys.Those in attendance included the Deputy Chief of Civil-Military Affairs, Major General Aminu M. Umar, and other senior officers of the Department.
Also present were members of the National President’s entourage: Ex-Boy Ayuba Abdul (Vice President), Ex-Boy Alhassan Abdul (Secretary General), Ex-Boy Saidu Garba (Treasurer), Ex-Boy Sanusi Mohammed (Financial Secretary), Ex-Boy Abdulrazak Owolabi (Director of Logistics), and Ex-Boy Bulus Tela (Director of Security and Protocol).
