The Executive Chairman of Zaria Local Government, Engr. Jamil Ahmad Muhammad (Jaga), has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the renowned Zaria-based Islamic scholar, Sheikh Usman Idris Kusfa (Rigi-Rigi), who died on Sunday night at the age of 57.
Engr. Jaga described the late scholar as a towering religious figure, community leader, and unifier, whose life was wholly devoted to the propagation of Islam and the moral upliftment of society.
He noted that Sheikh Kusfa’s unique teaching style, humility, and commitment to peace earned him respect far beyond Zaria and Kaduna State.
According to the Chairman, the loss of Sheikh Usman Kusfa is not only a tragedy for the Tijjaniyya community but for the entire Zaria Emirate, as his teachings inspired generations toward righteousness and communal harmony.
Engr. Jaga prayed for Allah’s mercy upon the deceased, asking Allah (SWT) to forgive his shortcomings and grant him Jannatul Firdaus, while also praying for comfort and strength for his family, students, and followers.
