………REPRESENTED BY THE CHIEF PRESS SECRETARY ISHAQ GALADIMA,OFFICE OF THE CHAIRMAN ZARIA LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA.

Yesterday, I had the honor of representing the Executive Chairman of Zaria Local Government Council, Engr. Jamil Ahmad Muhammad Jaga, at two significant events.
The Chairman is currently out of the country on an official assignment in the United Kingdom, and I stood in for him accordingly.
The first engagement was the formal inauguration of the Sheikh Albaniy Zaria JAMB Excellence Award for Indigenes of Zaria and Sabon Gari Local Government Areas, held at the Albaniy Jumu’at Mosque, Gaskiya, Tukur-Tukur, Zaria.
This commendable initiative, founded by Professor Abdulganiy Abdulrafiu, aims to recognize, reward, and inspire outstanding performance among candidates from Zaria and Sabon Gari LGAs who excel in the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Examination — a major pathway to higher education in Nigeria.
On behalf of the Chairman, I delivered his goodwill message to the organizers and beneficiaries, reaffirming his steadfast commitment to advancing education in Zaria Local Government.
I also reminded participants that history will record Engr. Jaga was the first Chairman in Zaria LGA to award scholarships, laptops, and cash grants to the top 10 JAMB scorers from the Local Government. In his message, the Chairman reiterated his administration’s readiness to continue supporting initiatives that promote academic excellence.
He further emphasized that the award stands as a worthy tribute to Sheikh Albaniy Zaria — a man whose life embodied knowledge, discipline, and service to humanity. He noted that the Sheikh’s teachings continue to inspire generations toward education, moral integrity, and purposeful living.
During the ceremony, the best JAMB scorer from each of the two LGAs received ₦150,000, while the second-best candidates were awarded ₦100,000 each.Later in the day,
I also represented Chairman Jaga at the Pad the Girl Initiative and Personal Hygiene Awareness Program, organized by the Tudun-Wada Youths Initiative Forum in collaboration with several supporting foundations, including the Aliyu Shehu Foundation.
The event took place at AA Ladan Hall, FCE Zaria. At the end of the program, I received a Certificate of Appreciation on behalf of the Chairman, in recognition of his continued support to the organization and the success of the campaign.
The program featured impactful sensitization sessions on menstrual health, during which over 1,200 girls received free sanitary pads and soap as part of the outreach.
The Jaga administration remains steadfast in its commitment to supporting education, empowering young people, and promoting initiatives that enhance the growth and well-being of the people of Zaria Local Government Area.
