Today, I join the good people of Kaduna State, the National Assembly, and indeed the entire nation in celebrating the most distinguished son of our beloved state, Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Tajudeen Abbas, Speaker of the House of Representatives, on the occasion of his 60th birthday.
This milestone offers us a profound opportunity to pay tribute to a man whose life is a masterclass in humility, service, and unwavering dedication to the common good. Dr. Abbas is not merely a political leader: he is a builder of bridges, a promoter of unity, and a beacon of hope to millions across Nigeria. His journey from the hallowed precincts of the Zazzau Emirate to the Speakership of the 10th House of Representatives tells a story of quiet strength, noble character, and relentless pursuit of excellence.
Mr. Speaker stands tall today as one of the finest statesmen of our generation. A calm yet firm presence in Nigeria’s complex political landscape, Dr. Abbas has redefined parliamentary leadership with grace, wisdom, and inclusive vision. Since his emergence as Speaker, the House of Representatives has witnessed unprecedented stability, maturity, and productivity. Legislative business has shed its rancorous cloak and assumed the dignified tone of national duty, largely due to his masterful diplomacy and deep moral authority.
But beyond Abuja, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas has remained steadfastly connected to the grassroots. He has championed people-focused legislation, equitable development, and robust oversight that puts the Nigerian people first. He understands that democracy must deliver, and in every motion he sponsors, every policy he backs, and every initiative he leads, the heartbeat of the common man is never absent.
In Kaduna State, we have been particularly blessed by his partnership and solidarity. As Governor, I have found in Mr. Speaker a trustworthy ally, a loyal son of Kaduna, and a dependable architect of our shared vision for a prosperous, inclusive, and peaceful state. His support for critical infrastructure, education, healthcare, and security initiatives in Kaduna has been nothing short of exemplary. Together, we are rewriting the narrative of our dear state, and his role in this renaissance cannot be overstated.
As he turns 60, we thank God for his life, his legacy, and his luminous example. May the years ahead bring him greater wisdom, strength, and impact. May his path remain lit with divine guidance as he continues to serve Nigeria with honour and vision.
