BRIGADE COMMANDER EMBARKS ON FAMILIARIZATION TOUR TO 143 RANGER BATTALION COMMISSIONS GROUND BREAKING FACILITIES

In a bid to strengthen operational effectiveness and enhance troops’ welfare, the Commander 14 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Ahmad Mansur Dikko who doubles as the Commander Sector 3 Joint Task Force South East Operation Udo ka, conducted a familiarization visit to 143 Ranger Battalion at Ovím Barracks, Abia State, under the ongoing Operation Eastern Sanity

.A statement signed by Captain Mazinho Attah, Assistant Director Army Public relations,14 Brigade Ohafia,Abia State said addressing troops during the visit, General Dikko commended the officers and soldiers for their commitment and resilience in maintaining peace and security across their operational environment.

He emphasized the importance of discipline, professionalism, and continuous training in sustaining the Nigerian Army’s operational readiness.The Brigade Commander further commissioned a newly constructed armoury by Army Headquarters Department of Logistics.

The facility, commissioned on behalf of the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 82 Division Major General OA Fadairo is expected to significantly improve the secure storage and management of weapons and other military equipment within the unit.

The development forms part of ongoing efforts to enhance operational infrastructure and boost the combat readiness of troops deployed in the region.In further demonstration of the Nigerian Army’s commitment to civil-military relations and community development,

Brigadier General AM Dikko also performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a nursery and primary school for the Ovim Barracks community.

The project is designed to provide as well as improve educational facilities for children of military personnel and residents within the barracks environment.

General Dikko as part of his tour visited the Nigerian Army Language Institute (NALI), where he observed ongoing training programmes aimed at improving linguistic and communication capabilities of personnel within the Nigerian Army.

Furthermore, he visited several locations within the battalion’s Area of Responsibility, (AOR) including Uturu, Ihube/Okigwe Junction, Nneato, Umuaku, and the Forward Operating Base (FOB)’s at Isuochi.

Highlights of the visit include inspection of a mounted Quarter Guard in honour of the Brigade Commander, detailed operational briefing of the unit’s engagements by the Commanding Officer of 143 Ranger Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel B Magaji, signing of visitors’ note book, presentation of plaque and group photographs.
