This information is contained in the (2025) SCImago Institutions Rankings (SIR) which is an institution globally recognised for rigorous scientific research in ranking of Universities across the world, and it uses verifiable indicators in classification of academic and research-related institutions.
Its pedigree lies in its thorough assessment in the ranking procedure using composite indicators that combines three different sets of indicators based on research performance, innovation outputs and societal impact measured by their web visibility.
1st in Innovation ranking makes ATBU the leading Nigerian university in knowledge transfer, patents, and technological advancement just as the 6th Overall position among Nigerian universities reflects balanced excellence across research, innovation, and societal contribution.
The 34th position in Social rankings was assessed by societal impact, inclusiveness, and also web visibility.
A statement signed by Director, Directorate of Information and Public Relations office of the VC,Zailani Bappah said this latest ranking now places ATBU at a very high academic position of excellence in Nigeria and is a clear indicator to our institution’s growing excellence in the field of academic research, especially in science and technology.
