The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has recorded another significant breakthrough in its sustained efforts to rid the state of criminal elements and ensure the safety of all residents.In the early hours of today, at about 0450hrs, operatives acting on credible intelligence arrested one Wisdom Eyo, male, 27 years, a native of Afaha Obong in Abak Local Government Area.
Upon his arrest, the following items were recovered from the suspect:
• One face mask
• Three (3) rounds of 9mm calibre ammunition
• One (1) round of 7.5mm ammunition
• Items suspected to be Charms
• Large motor bearings
• One pen knife
A statement signed by the command public relations officer DSP Timfon John on behalf of the state commissioner of police Baba Mohammad Azare said preliminary investigation reveals that the suspect allegedly acquired the ammunition while outside the state, specifically in Edo and Bayelsa States. The suspect has made useful statements to the Police, and further investigations are ongoing to unravel the full extent of his activities and possible accomplices.
The Commissioner of Police reiterates the Command’s unwavering commitment to proactive policing, intelligence-led operations, and the protection of lives and property across Akwa Ibom State.
