The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Education , Zaria, Prof. Yahaya Isa Bunkure has approved the appointment of Dr. Haruna Abbas of the Department of Hausa Language as the first Dean of the Faculty of Nigerian and Foreign Languages.
In a similar development, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Yahaya Isa Bunkure, has also approved the appointment of Dr. (Mrs.) Salamatu Bello of the Department of Primary Education Studies (PES) as the Coordinator, Professional Diploma in Education (PDE).
Similarly, Mal. Nuruddeen Sambo Nuruddeen of the Department of Educational Foundations has been appointed as the Assistant Coordinator, Professional Diploma in Education (PDE).
In addition, Dr. (Mrs) BALOGUN, Bose Ibiloye of the Department of Agricultural Education, is now the new Desk Officer Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) of the University.
The appointments are based on the appointees’ proven academic competence and leadership qualities, as observed by the Vice-Chancellor and members of his Management Team, and are in line with the provisions of the National Universities Commission (NUC) guidelines (2007) and other relevant regulations.
A statement signed by Sani Lawal maqarphy media aide to the VC said all appointments take effect from 19th January, 2026,and are for a period of two (2) years.
While congratulating the appointees, the Vice-Chancellor assured them of the full support of the University Management and urged them to discharge their duties diligently and strictly in accordance with the approved rules, regulations, and guiding principles of the University.
