The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested a suspect linked to a case of defilement and armed robbery in the state.
This is contained in a statement signed by the command public relations officer DSP Timfon John made available to newsmen.
Following a tip-off received from a concerned citizen, detectives were able to track and apprehend the suspect, Happiness Alphonsus Iseyen, a 26-year-old male from Ini LocalGovernment Area.
The arrest was made at approximately 1340 hours. Upon a search of the suspect, a locally made pistol and one cartridge were recovered from his possession.
The Akwa Ibom State Police Command is conducting a discreet investigation to arrest other members of the gang and recover their operational weapons.
