Following the recent flooding incident, and in line with the directive of the Executive Chairman of Zaria Local Government, Hon. Engr. Jamil Ahmad Muhammad, the council has commenced a comprehensive assessment of the areas affected by the disaster in order to provide timely assistance to victims.
In all the affected Wards, councilors are leading teams from the Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency (KAD-SEMA) in collaboration with the International Red Cross to conduct on-the-spot evaluations.
A statement signed Abdullahi Abubakar lawal special assistant new media to the chairman Zaria local government said the assessment exercise aims to accurately identify households and communities impacted by the flood, ensuring that relief interventions reach those in genuine need.
It added that the Executive Chairman reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to stand by the people of Zaria in times of crisis, emphasizing that every effort will be made to provide support and relief to the victims of the flooding.
