AFCSC HOLDS FIRST-EVER JOINT GRADUATION CEREMONY FOR SENIOR COURSE 47 AND JUNIOR COURSE 100

Armed Forces Command and Staff College(AFCSC) Nigeria, held its first-ever Joint Graduation Ceremony for Senior Course 47 and Junior Course 100 at the AVM AO Ogundana Officers’ Mess, Jaji Military Cantonment, Kaduna State.

The President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, who was the Special Guest of Honour commended the College for ending the training year on a high note.

He also congratulated the graduates while describing the ceremony as a reaffirmation of the enduring values of discipline, dedication, and patriotism that define the Nigerian Armed Forces.

He affirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to Strengthening Nigeria’s security architecture through the modernisation of the Armed Forces, enhancement of joint operations, investment in capacity development, and improved welfare of personnel.

The president who was represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, CON, further emphasised the importance of professionalism, loyalty to constitutional authority, civil-military cooperation, and adherence to democratic values in addressing Nigeria’s multi-dimensional security challenges.

Earlier in his Welcome Address, the Commandant, Air Vice Marshal Hassan Idris Alhaji described the joint graduation ceremony as the culmination of the 2025 Training Year.

He said the College trained 2 Junior Courses and one Senior Staff Course using its most contemporary and realistic curriculum.

He noted that the curriculum was designed to build an integrated modern force anchored on discipline, decisiveness and diligence, capable of addressing the complexities of the modern battlespace.

The Commandant also highlighted that today’s security environment is characterised by rapidly evolving threats, requiring adaptability, intelligent use of technology, cultural awareness, and strategic foresight.

He acknowledged the contribution of international students from across Africa, stating that their diverse perspectives enriched the College’s training outcomes.

The ceremony had in attendance the Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, represented by the Deputy Governor, Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, the former Governor of Benue State, His Excellency Dr Samuel Ortom, the Chief of Defence Staff Gen OO Oluyede and Service Chiefs.

Other dignitaries present were government functionaries, principal staff officers from Defence and Services Headquarters, members of the Diplomatic Corps amongst others.

Highlights of the event were the conferment of the coveted Pass Staff Course and Pass Junior Staff Course on the graduates, presentation of awards to outstanding students, presentation of souvenirs to the Special Guest of Honour and special guests as well as group photographs.
