The Member representing Bungudu/Maru Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Abdulmalik Zubairu (Zannan Bungudu), has donated 300 bags of 50kg Rice and 200 bags of Semivita to security agencies and the Christian community in Zamfara State to support the celebration of the 2025 Christmas and 2026 New Year.
The donation is aimed at easing the burden of the festive season and enabling beneficiaries to celebrate with joy and happiness.
A statement signed by Aminu Lawal Bungudu chief image maker of the lawmaker,said Hon. Abdulmalik Zubairu also called on Christians to offer special prayers during the yuletide period for the restoration of peace, harmony, and tranquility in Zamfara State and Nigeria at large.
Speaking during the distribution exercise, the Chairman of the Distribution Committee and former Sole Administrator of Bungudu Local Government Area, Hon. Sadiq Maiturare, who handed over the items to the beneficiaries, said the lawmaker urged Christians to use the Christmas period to pray for lasting peace and unity across the state and the country.
Beneficiaries of the gesture include all security agencies operating in Zamfara State, such as the Nigeria Police Force, Military, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Fire Service, Nigeria Correctional Service, NDLEA, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Nigeria Customs Service, Nigeria Immigration Service, among others.
Similarly, Christian organizations that benefited from the donation include the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Zamfara State Chapter, represented by Ambassador Machiel Oluwale on behalf of the Chairman, Evangelist Tajuddeen Afolabi Azeez, as well as the All Tribes Network, Zamfara State, represented by its Chairman Hassan Binna Usama and Chairlady Rita James. They separately expressed gratitude to the lawmaker, assuring that the items would be distributed judiciously to the intended beneficiaries.
Also speaking, the Commissioner of Police, Zamfara State Command, CP Ibrahim Balarabe Maikaba, appreciated Hon. Abdulmalik Zubairu for including security agencies in the Christmas donation, noting that the gesture would enable personnel to celebrate the season joyfully.
He assured that the items would be shared accordingly among the agencies.
