For many years, the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Zamfara State chapter, has occupied a dilapidated allocated complex without meaningful repairs.
Administrations came and left, yet no governor lifted a finger to fulfill the promise of giving journalists a dignified working environment.But today, history has changed.
Governor Dauda Lawal has approved and commenced the construction of a new NUJ Secretariat building—modern, befitting, and purpose-driven. This gesture is more than a structure; it is a testament to his administration’s respect for the role of journalists in democracy and nation building.
By uplifting professional bodies and non-government organisations, His Excellency is not only transforming infrastructure but strengthening voices that hold society together. Journalists are guardians of public interest, storytellers, and bridge builders between government and the people.
Empowering them is empowering truth.While others ignored, His Excellency acted.Where promises had long expired, Governor Dauda renewed hope.Zamfara is witnessing leadership defined by action—not noise.
