The Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin has received the former chairman of the 44 Local Government Areas of Kano State, who served between 2003 and 2011, in my office at the National Assembly in Abuja.
The former Chairmen are Led by a former chairman of Tofa LGA, Hon. Garba Idris Unguwar Rimi,in which they unanimously endorsed the Deputy Senate President for the governorship election of Kano state.
Speaking at the meeting Alh Idris Garba Unguwar Rimi said, ” On behalf of all of us who were local government chairmen between 2003 and 2011, we have endorsed you for the governorship election of Kano State, come 2027.
According to him,the endorsement is based on what you have done for us, our people, and our party, the APC. We are calling on you to contest for the governorship election in our state, Kano. Anywhere you go, we are with you and will support and work for your victory.
“Also speaking the Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Agenda in Kano State, Hon. Salihu Sagir Takai, urged all stakeholders in the APC to join the Tinubu/Barau movement in Kano State to have “a government that will work for the people of Kano State, not the other way around.”Hon Takai said,
” Let’s all work for the second term bid of President Tinubu and for Senator Barau to become Kano governor in 2027. He is focused and has a direction – to restore the glorious days of our state.
“Responding Senator Barau Jibrin thanked the former LG chairmen for their Assuring them that he is on a mission to rescue Kano State.
He therefore reiterated that this movement is about restoring the glorious days of Kano, where everything works for everyone. The retrogression and other challenges facing Kano are a result of bad leadership.and urged them all to partner to rescue the state.
