Africa must Speak With One Voice and Act with Unity, Speaker Abbas charges African Parliamentarians.

The speaker of the house of representatives Dr Abbas Tajudeen has over the weekend in Rabat, Morocco, addressed fellow parliamentarians and legislatures at the 3rd General Assembly of the Conference of Speakers and Presidents of African Legislatures (CoSPAL).

He made a simple but urgent case: Africa must speak with coherence and act with unity in a global order that is rapidly shifting.

Dr Abbas Tajudeen said Power is diffusing, technology is reshaping societies, conflicts are intensifying, and institutions once considered stable are under strain. In this moment, African parliaments cannot afford to be spectators.

According to him, Legislative leadership must become a tool for resilience. Parliamentary diplomacy must evolve into a strategic instrument for advancing Africa’s priorities—on security, trade, climate, technology, and development.
