The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Education, Zaria, Prof. Yahaya Isa Bunkure, today received delegation of group members of the Faculties of Science, Medicine, Technology and Education (SCIEMET class of 91/92/93), Bayero University, Kano, in his office.
The group of the Vice-Chancellor’s former schoolmates, led by Dr. Muh’d Jafar Na’Abba, was on a courtesy visit to congratulate the Vice-Chancellor on his recent appointment and to express their goodwill and that of rest members.
Dr. Na’Abba noted that Prof. Bunkure brings a wealth of experience to the office, citing the numerous leadership positions he has held in different institutions, which have prepared him adequately for steering the affairs of the nascent University.
He added that the group felt honoured to identify with one of their own who has risen to such a significant leadership position, describing Prof. Bunkure’s appointment as a source of pride to the SCIEMET family.
The delegation further expressed confidence that his tenure would usher in reforms that would promote academic excellence, innovation, and sustainable development.
In his remarks, Prof. Bunkure appreciated the team for the visit and their heartfelt congratulatory message.
He described the reunion with his former mates as uplifting and reaffirmed his commitment to steering the University toward greater growth, excellence, and prosperity.
He emphasised that the Federal University of Education, Zaria, remains focused on its mandate of training high-quality educators equipped with modern pedagogical competencies.

The Vice-Chancellor also showered optimism that the University would continue to benefit from partnerships from individuals and organizations relevant to the University’s core values and mission.
A statement signed by Sani Lawal maqarphy, media aide to the VC said Members in the delegation included Dr. Hasiya Mahmood Umar, Prof. Hannatu Musa, Prof. Aliyu Abdu, Suleiman Musa Anchau, Prof. Dahiru Ismaila Lawal and Dr. Alhassan Mu’azu.
