At the G-20 Summit in South Africa, Kaduna State, led by His Excellency Malam Senator Uba Sani, showcased its solid mineral potential at the International Investment Forum and Roadshow for Solid Minerals in Nigeria.

In a keynote address titled โ€œUnlocking Kadunaโ€™s Green Minerals Future: From Exploration to Industrialisation,โ€ the State outlined its strategy to prioritise value addition, processing and industrialisation over raw mineral extraction.

With 23 confirmed mineral assets and a population of over 11 million people, Governor Uba Sani is positioning Kaduna as a major mining and industrial hub, already attracting over $2.1 billion in long-term investments.

Following the Forum, the Kaduna Mining Development Company (KMDC) signed five strategic MoUs with international partners for mineral mapping, investment funding, project development, ecosystem integration and gold aggregation.

Witnessed by top officials from South Africa and Nigeria, the agreements are projected to attract $2.5โ€“$3 billion in new investments, create over 10,000 jobs and lift up to 70,000 citizens out of poverty within two years.

Governor Uba Sani also called for deeper Nigeriaโ€“South Africa cooperation and commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubuโ€™s reforms for strengthening business competitiveness and subnational development.
