President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially sworn in the newly appointed Service Chiefs, urging them to uphold professionalism, discipline, and patriotism in the discharge of their duties.

The ceremony took place at the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, with Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate president Godswill Akpabio and many top government officials in attendance, lending his full support to the administration’s security agenda.

Also present were the spouses of the new Service Chiefs, who witnessed the historic moment as their partners took the oath of allegiance and office before the President.

The newly inaugurated officers include the former Chief of Army Staff General Olufemi Oluyede now elevated to Chief of Defence Staff, Lt. General Wahidi Shaibu is now appointed Chief of Army Staff, while Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke was decorated the new Chief of Air Staff.

Others are Admiral Idi Abbas, decorated as Chief of Naval Staff, while Lt. General Emmanuel Undiendeye retained his position as Chief of Defence Intelligence.

President Tinubu, while congratulating them, reminded the Service Chiefs that their appointments come with enormous responsibility, particularly in restoring peace to all parts of the country and safeguarding the lives and property of Nigerians.

He emphasized that his administration remains committed to reforming the security architecture to ensure efficiency and inter-agency collaboration.
