NASI BIDS FAREWELL TO A RETIRING SENIOR OFFICER IN GRAND STYLE.

is a saying that what has a beginning must surely have an end. It is in a grand style and moments filled with emotions as the Nigerian Army School of Infantry (NASI) bids farewell to the Chief Instructor Platoon Weapons Wing, Colonel Abubakar Jauro who is proceeding on retirement, after a 35 years stint of meritorious and dedicated service to the Nigerian Army (NA) and the nation at large.

The Commandant NASI, Major General Frank Sunday Etim, speaking at the senthforth ceremony organised in honour of Colonel AI Jauro at Headquarters NASI Commandant’s conference room, commended the senior officer for his commitment, professionalism, and selfless service to the nation. He noted that his wealth of experience and leadership would be greatly missed within the ranks.

A statement signed by Captain Shamsudeen Umar acting assistant director army public relations, Nigerian army school of Infantry said Major General Etim also encouraged the officer to remain available for advisory support when called upon. While wishing him the best in his future endeavor.

The Commandant reiterated that his role in national development does not end with the military service and therefore implore him to remain active and relevant with his contributions as he begins a new phase of life.

Earlier in his welcome address, the deputy Commandant, Brigadier General S Ahmed, urged the retiring officer to adapt smoothly to civilian life and remain vigilant of his new environment. He highlighted the importance of maintaining security consciousness and contributing positively to society post-retirement.

Brig Gen Ahmed reassured and encouraged the retiree, while acknowledging the challenges of transition. He emphasized the utmost utilization of skills and discipline gained from military life.

Other senior officers at the event extended heartfelt wishes to the senior officer, expressing hopes for a fulfilling, peaceful and rewarding life after service

Col AI Jauro in his vote of thanks, appreciated the Commandant for honoring him at a time that he is leaving the community that has shaped his life for over 3 decades.

He expressed his readiness for a continuous support to the school whenever the need arises. Col Jauro also used the medium to appreciate the Deputy Commandant, officers and men of the school for the support they rendered to him while praying for them to also retire in sound health.
