
In a renewed effort to strengthen public health and enhance immunization coverage, the First Lady of Zaria Local Government, Hajiya Hauwa Yakubu Ibrahim (Jaga), today led a community sensitization and mobilization exercise at Anguwan Fatika Primary Health Centre (PHC), focusing on the ongoing Integrated Measles-Rubella, Polio, HPV, and Other Vaccine-Preventable Diseases Immunization Campaign.

The event, which drew large participation from mothers, caregivers, and community leaders, was aimed at promoting awareness and encouraging full community participation in the immunization exercise

In her remarks, the First Lady highlighted the importance of vaccination as a life-saving measure that protects children and families from preventable illnesses. She urged parents to ensure that every eligible child receives all necessary doses, stressing that “prevention remains the most effective way to secure a healthy and prosperous future.”
Health workers from the Primary Health Care Department conducted health education sessions, door-to-door mobilization, and interactive discussions designed to dispel myths and misconceptions surrounding vaccines.
Participants expressed appreciation for the awareness drive, pledging to support the ongoing campaign within their communities.
This exercise forms part of the broader initiatives of the Executive Chairman of Zaria Local Government Council, Engr. Jamil Ahmad Muhammad (Jaga), whose administration has continued to invest in healthcare delivery, disease prevention, and community health awareness across the local government area.
Through these interventions, the Zaria Local Government under Engr. Jaga’s leadership continues to demonstrate a steadfast commitment to improving public health, reducing the burden of vaccine-preventable diseases, and fostering a healthier and more resilient population.
