Zazzau Emirate to Collaborate with FUE Zaria on E-Library

Federal University of Education, Zaria (FUE Zaria) today, Tuesday 14th October, 2025 was at the Zazzau Emirate on a courtesy call to the Emir of Zazzau, His Highness, Amb. Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli.

The delegation was led by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Yahaya Isa Bunkure, who appreciated the Emir for receiving them warmly at his palace.Introducing the entourage, the Acting Registrar, Mal. Shehu Iya Sa’idu, stated that the visit was to congratulate the Emir on his successful 5th Anniversary on the throne of Zazzau

Accordingly, the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Dr. Suleiman Balarabe, when presenting the Vice Chancellor to the Emir, also introduced the University Management Team, Principal Officers, Directors, and other members of the delegation.

Dr. Balarabe added that the new Vice Chancellor is an experienced administrator, noting that he holds the traditional title of Makaman Rano in Kano State and had served as Rano Local Government Chairman for three consecutive terms. He was also Provost and later Vice Chancellor of Sa’adatu Rimi College of Education, Kano, following its upgrade to a university.

Speaking during the visit, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Yahaya Isa Bunkure explained that while they were in the palace to congratulate the Emir on his 5th Anniversary, the University also needed the Emir’s counsel and support.“We will continue to seek the support and guidance of the Emirate,” he said.

Recalling the warm reception he received upon assuming duty at the university, Prof. Bunkure explained that it gave him greater confidence and a sense of belonging.

He assured that he would lead an all-inclusive administration and continue from where the previous administration stopped.“I will work with everyone and will continue what the previous administration under Dr. Suleiman Balarabe started, and also initiate new ones,” he assured.

Speaking on the progress of the transition, the Vice Chancellor explained that the Bill establishing the University would soon come up for public hearing, and he requested the Emir to extend the University’s appreciation to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, for fast-tracking the bill.

In his response, the Emir of Zazzau, Amb. Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli expressed appreciation for the visit to congratulate him on his fifth anniversary as Emir of Zazzau, adding that the University has consistently carried the Emirate along since his assumption onto the throne.

The Emir expressed happiness over the unity and bond among the University’s management, emphasizing the importance of such teamwork in laying a solid foundation for the institution.“I am elated with the bond shown by the leaders of the institution. Though some transitions and changes are often rough, this one is going smoothly,” the Emir remarked.

He admonished the Vice Chancellor to place the interest of the university community above personal interests and commended him for ensuring continuity, which he said brings about growth and stability.

The Emir then called for collaboration between the University Library and the Emirate, urging the institution to contribute to improve the Emirate Library and to establish an E-Library, while also requesting the University to provide E-books to enhance the Emirate’s digital learning resources.

He further assured the University that the Emirate remains open and welcoming and would provide unlimited access and cooperation whenever required.

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Yahaya Isa Bunkure accepted the Emir’s request and assured that all necessary steps would be taken to ensure that the University Library extends full E-Library support to facilitate the establishment of the Emirate’s own digital library.
