Funtua Local Government Chairman Alh Abdulmuttalib Jibrin Goya says he joined the reconciliation and negotiations with bandits in the interest of peace and stability in the area.
The chairman stated this to newsmen in an interview in funtua.
The chairman pointed out that he spearheaded and organized the negotiation with the bandits in three months .
He said although Funtua Local Government did have a forest that provided cover for the bandits , he invited the six neighboring local governments to come together for the negotiation for lasting peace in the areas.
Alh Abdulmuttalib Jibrin Goya disclosed that those local govt included, Bakori, kankara, malumfashi, faskari, dandume , sabuwa kafur and danja local govt areas.
He added that all the local govt included their security agents and the traditional rulers with a view to find a lasting solution to the problem.
Alh Abdulmuttalib Jibrin further explained that the bandits leaders demanded to allow them free movements, visits market places, and the govt provide them with rural and social amenities, such as Schools , clinics, and roads.
Alh Abdulmuttalib Jibrin Goya said since the reconciliation there is no report of any attacks in the areas , hoping that the peace negotiation will last longer for the development of the areas .
The chairman expressed appreciation to the state governor Dr Dikko Umar radda PhD con for his supporters and cooperation.
