‎The Kebbi State House of Assembly has passed a bill for the establishment of the Senior Secondary Education Board (SSEB). ‎‎The landmark legislation scaled its final reading during the plenary session, marking a significant milestone in the state’s effort to enhance educational management and standards.‎‎The bill’s passage underscores the Assembly’s commitment to legislative excellence and the continuous improvement of the public school system in Kebbi State.‎Speaker while passing the bill, the Speaker of the House, Muhammad Usman Zuru commended the collaborative spirit demonstrated by all members and the Committee on Basic and Secondary Education. ‎‎He noted that the development is a clear demonstration of our resolve to elevate the quality of education available to our students.The Committee Chairman on Basic and Secondary Education, Hon. Muhammad Garba Bena, expressed optimism regarding the bill’s potential impact.‎‎ He highlighted that upon receiving the assent of Governor Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, the SSEB will grant the state greater autonomy to efficiently manage and regulate senior secondary education.‎‎“The creation of the Kebbi State Senior Secondary Education Board is a vital step toward ensuring quality, consistency, and alignment with national educational standards,” He said Hon.“The Board’s mandate will allow for focused policy implementation that directly benefits our students and educators.” It also positions Kebbi to join other states in effectively controlling its secondary education sector, promising a more robust and responsive system for the state’s burgeoning student population.
