Foreign Investors to Invest in $600M, Create 55,000 Jobs in Kebbi

The Kebbi State Government, said it has signed an agreement with a company to invest $600 million in a cement factory at Maiyama, in Maiyama local government area of the state with expectation to create 55,000 jobs.

Governor Nasiru Idris, who started this when he received the Coalition of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) on a courtesy visit said, noting that his administration inherited widespread infrastructural decay within the two years and working diligently to address.

The Governor condemned petitions with frivolous allegations that his government was importing mercenaries saying “we have just held a security meeting, and the security agencies are already investigating such petitions.

According to him, the petition was a height of irresponsibility by the opposition because it is false. “I have been at the forefront of the fight against criminals across the North, and my administration has invested heavily in security to restore normalcy in affected areas,”

The Governor further accused desperate opposition of sponsoring individuals to use social media to disparage him and paint Kebbi in a negative light. Adding that, this will not deter him. “As the Divinely Ordained Governor of Kebbi State, I remain unperturbed.

Governor Idris, assured to remain focused and continue to execute projects that are beneficial to all our communities.

Earlier, the Chairman of Coalition of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Kebbi state chapter, Ibrahim Ngaski, has expressed the coalition readiness to partner with the administration of Governor Nasir Idris in advancing the development of Kebbi State, despite the campaign of calumny by some opposition elements.

Ngaski however, condemned the negative reports circulating about the state, stressing that Kebbi’s image must not be tarnished. “Kebbi is our state, and we do not want to see it castigated outside, therefore the coalition is prepared to sit down and discuss the problems and the way forward.
