As part of a broader framework to deepen functional collaboration with sister services and other government agencies, the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 6 Division, Nigerian Army (NA), Major General Emmanuel Eric Emekah, hosted critical stakeholders at Headquarters 6 Division.
A statement signed by Lieutenant Colonel Danjuma Jonah Danjuma Acting Deputy’ Director army public relations,6 Division Nigerian army said the GOC received in audience the newly appointed Commander, Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) PATHFINDER, Commodore Mutalib Ibikunle Raji, as well as the Zonal Directors of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) Port Harcourt Network Centre.
Speaking during the visits, the GOC underscored the need for stronger and holistic collaboration among government agencies in confronting the security challenges bedeviling the nation.
He stated that, as government institutions, they all share a collective responsibility to safeguard the lives and property of Nigerians. He noted that the era of unnecessary rivalry among agencies is over, stressing that effective synergy and cooperation remain critical in tackling crimes and other security challenges confronting the nation.
Major General Emekah urged the agencies to sustain the level of collaboration across the Niger Delta Region (NDR). He also reassured them of the Division’s support in ensuring the success of their tenures in office.
In their separate remarks, the visitors thanked the GOC for the warm reception accorded them and members of their entourage.
They commended the Division for the operational successes recorded across the NDR.
On his part, the Commander, NNS PATHFINDER, Commodore Raji, acknowledged the volatile operating environment in the NDR and emphasized the importance of jointness among security agencies in addressing the security challenges in the region.
He solicited the GOC’s guidance and support in strengthening cooperation between the Nigerian Navy and the NA in the NDR.
Similarly, the EFCC Zonal Director, Mr Hassan Saidu, commended 6 Division for organizing seminars and engagements that have benefited other security agencies, including personnel of the EFCC.
He noted that his visit was aimed at strengthening collaboration between the EFCC and the NA to enhance operational effectiveness in the region.
Meanwhile, the NTA Zonal Director, Mr Paul Atte, stated that his visit was aimed at strengthening the existing relationship between the NA and the NTA.
He assured the GOC that the NTA remains committed to disseminating credible and accurate information to the public while supporting national security efforts through responsible journalism.
