The Executive Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf said his government will give maximum support and cooperation to the new Chairman of the APC in Kano, Honourable Umar Haruna Doguwa and all other Executive members of the party.
The Governor stated this at the 38th Executive Council meeting when the newly elected APC Chairman, Hon. Umar Haruna Doguwa, who was the former commissioner for Water Resources came for a farewell visit to the council.
This was contained in a press release issued by Mustapha Muhammad, the Chief Press Secretary to the Kano State Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf.
The Governor made mention of the former commissioner’s contributions in the educational sector, leading to declaring a state of emergency on education.
He stated that, Honourable, Umar Haruna Doguwa had contributed immensely to the development of the state and his exit from the Executive Council seems emotional, though the position now he holds will take the state to greater heights.
In his response, earlier, the newly elected APC Chairman, Umar Haruna Doguwa, said the party is in safe hands, what is needed from the council members is continued loyalty to the Governor and the APC party.
He said decamping to APC is the best decision and they would do everything possible for reelection bid of the Governor, come 2027 general election.
Secretary to the state Government, Alhaji Umar Faruk Ibrahim, the commissioner for education, Haruna Ali Makoda and commissioner for women Affairs, Children and Persons with Special Needs, Hajiya Amina Abdullahi, popularly known as Amina HOD, extol the virtues of the APC Chairman for his integrity and doggedness in politics.
