The Executive Chairman of Zaria Local Government, Engr.Jamil Ahmad Muhammad (Jaga), on Saturday carried out a series of official engagements focused on youth empowerment, infrastructure development, and community solidarity.
Earlier in the day, Engr. Jaga joined the Deputy Chief of Staff (Administrative) to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Malam Iliyasu Balarabe, alongside Special Advisers and Senior Legislative Aides to Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, GCON, to present permanent and pensionable employment offers to 30 indigent youths from Zaria.
The employment opportunities were facilitated by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, as part of his continued efforts to empower constituents and improve the socio-economic well-being of the people of Zaria.
Speaking during the presentation, Engr. Jaga expressed deep appreciation to the Speaker for his unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people, noting that the gesture reflects the Speaker’s dedication to creating meaningful opportunities for youths and vulnerable members of the community.
Following the presentation, the Chairman proceeded to Nagoyi for a site inspection of the ongoing construction of the Technology Incubation Centre, a strategic project aimed at promoting innovation, entrepreneurship, and technological advancement among young people in the area.
He also visited the Nigerian Institute of Leather and Science Technology (NILEST) to supervise the ongoing construction of a 250-bed space male and female hostel, another project facilitated by Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen to enhance infrastructure and improve accommodation for students within the institution.
In continuation of his engagements, Engr. Jaga paid condolence visits to bereaved families within the community.
He visited the family of Alhaji Ibrahim (Layin Church) in Tudun Jukun, Tukur-Tukur Ward, as well as Alhaji Murtala of Ganganren Mobil, Bakin Kasuwa, Tudun Wada, who recently lost his wife. During the visits, the Chairman offered prayers for the forgiveness of the deceased and asked Almighty Allah to grant them Aljannatul Firdaus while giving their families the strength to bear the irreparable loss.
Later in the evening, Engr. Jaga attended the Nigeria National League (NNL) match at Nasara Stadium, Kofar Doka, as the Special Guest of Honour.
The match featured Jigawa Golden Stars and Ranchers Bees of Kaduna, with Ranchers Bees emerging victorious with a 3–0 win.
