Residents of Zaria and other road users plying the Zaria,Soba,Pambeguwa to Saminaka to Jos road have made a passionate appeal for the reconstruction of the highway.
Some of them who spoke with our Reporter expressed concern over the continued deterioration of the road conditions which they describe as unmotorable.
They said the continued dilapidation of the road has affected them negatively, slowing down economic activities and social activities.
A resident who used to plying the road,Musa Mamman said the road condition has become a source of concern to all the people of the town’s located along the highway.
He said they’re suffering taking their farm products to the market as buyers no longer frequent the area’s due to bad road Network thereby reducing economic activities in the whole Area.
Also commenting a driver Aliyu Jingir who said he used to ply the road almost every day from Jos to Zaria before the dilapidation of the road,now only ply the road once a week.
According to him, once he plied the road, definitely he will end up in mechanic garage for repair of his vehicle.
They therefore appeal to both the state government and federal governments to urgently do something to address the present condition of the road before the beginning of rainfall.
Our Reporter who passed through the road to Jos observed that only few motorists ply the road now, while transport fares has skyrocketed as a result of the bad condition of the road.
