VC FUEZ Appointed Great Grand Patron, KADSSU

The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Education (FUE), Zaria, Prof. Yahaya Isa Bunkure, has been conferred with the title of Great Grand Patron by the University’s chapter of the Kaduna State Students’ Union (KADSSU).

The appointment was presented to the Vice-Chancellor by the President of the Union, Comrade Ramalan Usman (ATM), in the company of the Union’s Patron, Dr. Mansur Hashim; the Dean of Students’ Affairs, Malam Abdullahi Abdulkadir; and other members of the Union.

A statement signed by Sani Lawal maqarphy media aide to the VC said during the investiture, Dr. Mansur Hashim introduced members of the Union and explained that the visit was to congratulate and formally familiarize the Union with the Vice-Chancellor.

He noted that the Kaduna State Students’ Union is the largest students’ body in the institution after the Students’ Representative Council (SRC).

Dr. Hashim further briefed the Vice-Chancellor on the Union’s activities, including its forthcoming Annual Vice-Chancellor’s Tournament, which will be organized in his honour.

In his remarks, the KADSSU President, Comrade Ramalan Usman (ATM), on behalf of members of the Union, congratulated Prof. Bunkure on his appointment as Vice-Chancellor and stated that the Union remains committed to protecting the interests and welfare of its members.

The President requested the Vice-Chancellor’s guidance, experience, and continued support to ensure the success of the Union and its programmes.

Responding, Prof. Yahaya Isa Bunkure expressed appreciation to the Union for appointing him the Great Grand Patron of the Kaduna State Students’ Union (KADSSU) and for the goodwill extended to him.He advised students to always prioritize their primary assignment (academics) over other activities. .

While acknowledging the importance of unionism in fostering a cordial relationship between the University management and students, he emphasized that such activities must complement, not replace, their academic pursuits.

Prof. Bunkure called on the Union to bring the students together, guiding them to build student-oriented initiatives that promote unity, discipline, and the overall development of the University.

The Acting Registrar, Alh. Shehu Iya Sa’idu; the Acting Bursar, Alh. Muhammad Kabiru Aliyu; the Vice-Chancellor’s Personal Assistant and Chief of Staff, Mal. Abubakar Sani Adda’u and Mal. Sani Wambai, respectively, were also present at the august session.
