New FUGUS VC Visits Emir of Gusau, Pledges Enhanced Collaboration with Traditional Institution*

The new Vice Chancellor, Federal University Gusau, Professor Tukur Adamu has sought the support of the traditional institution for him to effectively deliver on his mandate.

A statement signed by Jamilu Ibrahim Gusau,Chief Information and Public relations officer of the University said Professor Adamu was speaking when he led the University Management on a courtesy visit to the Emir of Gusau, Sarkin Katsina Alhaji Abdulkadir Ibrahim Bello at his palace.

The Vice Chancellor, who said the visit was aimed at formally introducing himself and other management staff to the Monarch and to solicit his fatherly advice, prayers, and support, described traditional rulers as strategic partners in his quest to take the Federal University Gusau to a greater height.

The FUGUS VC maintained that more than ever before, the daunting task of managing the University system now requires collaboration of all stakeholders.

He reiterated his commitment to strengthening partnerships with the traditional rulers and other stakeholders in steering the affairs of the University.

Responding, the Emir of Gusau, Sarkin Katsina Alhaji Abdulkadir Ibrahim Bello warmly welcomed the FUGUS management team to the palace and assured the new VC of the Emirate’s support and cooperation at all times.

The Monarch expressed confidence that, considering his vast experience and track record of service, the new Vice Chancellor would justify the confidence reposed in him.

The visit, witnessed by District Heads of the Emirate, marks a significant step towards fostering collaboration between the University and the host community.
