Idris Charges Newly Elected APC Ward Exco On Unity, Party Supremacy

The Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu has charged the newly elected All Progressives Congress (APC) ward leaders in the state to promote unity amongst members and ensure party supremacy.

The Governor gave the charge on Wednesday during ward congresses for Marafa and Nasawa II wards in Birnin Kebbi Local Government Area of the state.

He expressed satisfaction with the observed peaceful conduct of the congresses held which signified that Kebbi is peaceful.

Gov. Idris assured the new exco that the government would work hand-in-hand with them so that collectively they take Kebbi to greater heights.

In his speech, Chairman Election Committee, and former Deputy Governor, Bauchi State Abdulmalik Mahmud, noted that the party’s constitution provided for either election or consensus.”We are happy that Kebbi opted for consensus.

The committee is satisfied with what transpired, and hope other states will borrow a leave from Kebbi,” he said.

The Kebbi State APC Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Kana-Zuru said elders of the party resolved that any executive that spent eight years should step aside for others to contribute their quota to the development of the party and the state at large.

He urged them to be loyal and ensure that they carry all manner of people along to give all a sense of belonging.

The Executive Chairman, Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Alhaji Faruku Musa Yaro said Marafa ward is today fulfilling the rites of APC as a party.

He said in fulfilment of the requirements of the law, INEC Electrical Officer, Abubakar Ahmed was invited and in attendance to monitor the congresses.

“We have resolved that the ward chairman, who spent 12 years and willingly step aside to go and represent us at the local government level, Alhaji Musa Jabbo is now the new chairman,” he emphasised.
