………..says Today is uniquely significant for the Country.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives Dr Tajudeen Abbas has felicitated with the Muslims and Christians on the commencement of the two religious acts.

He said as Muslims begin the blessed month of Ramadan and our Christian brothers and sisters mark Ash Wednesday, entering the sacred season of Lent, I am reminded of how divinely aligned our paths can be — different traditions, one shared purpose of reflection, sacrifice, and renewal.

According to him, Ramadan and Lent are not merely periods of fasting; they are seasons of deep introspection.

He explained that they remind us that beyond offices and titles, we are servants first – accountable to Almighty Allah and responsible to humanity. They teach patience in adversity, compassion for the vulnerable, and discipline in both word and action.

Dr Tajudeen Abbas said that at this critical time in our national journey – as we navigate socio-economic challenges and approach another political season ahead of 2027 – I urge all Nigerians to use this sacred period to pray for peace, unity, and stability in our land.

He counselled adherents of the two religions to seek divine guidance for our leaders at all levels, especially President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and for all political, traditional, and religious leaders entrusted with the stewardship of our nation.

He also prayed that May Allah (SWT) purify our hearts, strengthen our faith, and grant us wisdom to act with justice and sincerity. May He ease the burdens of struggling families, protect our communities, and bless Nigeria with enduring peace and prosperity.

Dr Tajudeen Abbas maintained that “As we fast and pray, let us also recommit to kindness, integrity, forgiveness, and service. Let us build bridges where there are divides, offer hope where there is despair, and extend a hand to those in need”.
