The Acting Governor of Borno State, His Excellency Alhaji (Dr) Umar Kadafur has presided over the grand opening of Sahad Store along Damboa Road, Maiduguri, describing the development as a significant milestone in the state’s economic recovery and transformation.
Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Kadafur said the inauguration of the store represents more than the launch of a business outlet, noting that it symbolizes resilience, innovation, and renewed investor confidence in Borno State.“It gives me immense pleasure and profound satisfaction to be part of this historic occasion.
Today marks not just the opening of a store, but the inauguration of a symbol of resilience and economic transformation in our dear state,” he said.
The Acting Governor commended the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Sahad Stores, Alhaji Ibrahim Mijinyawa, for his vision, commitment, and entrepreneurial leadership.
He described the investment in Maiduguri as a strong vote of confidence in the growing peace, stability, and economic prospects of the state.
Dr. Kadafur noted that the establishment of Sahad Store would contribute significantly to job creation, improved access to quality goods, competitive pricing, and enhanced consumer experience.
He added that the investment would stimulate commercial activities and empower small and medium-scale enterprises, thereby strengthening the state’s drive toward sustainable economic growth.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the Borno State Government to creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive, assuring investors of continued support.
As a government according to him, we remain committed to expanding opportunities, promoting enterprise, and uplifting our communities. We will continue to support investors who demonstrate confidence in Borno State,” he stated.
In his remarks, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Sahad Stores, Alhaji Ibrahim Mijinyawa, commended Governor Babagana Umara Zulum for his sustained efforts in restoring peace and stability across the state.
He said the improved security situation motivated the company’s decision to establish a branch in Maiduguri.Alhaji Mijinyawa assured the Acting Governor that the investment was aimed at serving the interests of the people of Borno State and called on other investors to take advantage of the relative peace to invest in Maiduguri.
Also speaking, the Commissioner for Commerce, Trade and Industry, Hon.Ibrahim Hala Hassan, attributed the successful investment to the deliberate efforts of the state government and his ministry in providing a level playing field and a conducive business environment for investors.
He assured that the ministry would continue to give maximum support and attention to investors to ensure their businesses flourish in the state.
