Gombe Inaugurates LG Coordinators for Renewed Hope Initiative

The Deputy Governor of Gombe State, Manassah Daniel Jatau,Ph.D has inaugurated Local Government Coordinators for the Renewed Hope Initiative, charging them to ensure effective grassroots implementation of the programme across the state.

This was contained in a statement signed by Jack.A.Tasha,Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media and Publicity,(Deputy Governor’s Office) issued to newsmen.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony held Thursday 5th February, 2026,at the APC Square in Gombe,Dr. Jatau said the Renewed Hope Agenda, introduced by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, reflects the Federal Government’s commitment to improving the welfare and living standards of Nigerians.

He conveyed the goodwill and appreciation of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, the state government, and residents of Gombe State to the appointees and stakeholders present at the event.

The deputy governor explained that the initiative, championed by the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, focuses on uplifting vulnerable citizens, empowering small and medium-scale enterprises, and promoting entrepreneurship skills among youths to reduce poverty and stimulate economic growth.

Dr. Jatau commended the appointment of Hon.(Dr.) Aishatu Jibril Dukku as the State Coordinator of the initiative, describing her as an experienced educationist, seasoned politician and mother figure capable of driving the programme successfully.

While acknowledging the selection of the Local Government Coordinators, he urged them to justify the confidence reposed in them, stressing that their performance would determine their recognition.

“I can not congratulate you now because no general celebrates victory before a battle is fought. Your success will be measured by your performance and ability to deliver the objectives of the Renewed Hope Agenda to the grassroots,” he said.

He expressed appreciation to President Tinubu, the First Lady and Governor Yahaya for their commitment to improving the welfare of Nigerians

.As part of activities marking the inauguration, the Chief of Staff, Government House, Alhaji Abubakar Inuwa Kari, flagged off the distribution of rice to vulnerable persons.

He said the food support was provided by President Tinubu to cushion the hardship faced by citizens and urged residents to continue supporting both the President and Governor Yahaya.

In his remarks, the State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Nitte Amangal, lauded the Renewed Hope Initiative and urged the coordinators to discharge their duties with all sincerity and dedication.

He also commended the leadership of President Tinubu and Governor Yahaya for implementing people-oriented policies and praised the appointment of Dr. Aishatu Jibrin Dukku as State Coordinator.

Some of the Local Government Coordinators, including the Coordinator of Yamaltu-Deba, Alhaji Sa’adu Hassan, Engr. Muhammad Dauda Abubakar of Kwami Local Government, and Hon. Joseph Bugu Kwalams of Billiri Local Government, pledged their commitment to ensuring successful implementation of the initiative.

They highlighted what they described as achievements of the Tinubu administration, including improvements in economic stability, increased federal allocations to states, introduction of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), reforms in the health sector, and progress in addressing security challenges.

They called on Nigerians to support the administration for sustained development.The coordinators also commended Governor Yahaya for what they described as transformative leadership in Gombe State and prayed for continuity of his developmental strides.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, commissioners and party leaders and members.
