In his remarks the Acting Governor said, this demographic shift is a positive sign of returning of peace, placing an unimaginable strain on the existing healthcare infrastructure as the existing primary health care in the area could not for this growing demand.
Today is not just about the opening of a building, it is about the closing of a painful chapter and the bold, unwavering beginning of a new one.
We are gathered to officially commission the Damboa Ultra-Modern General Hospital, a beacon of hope, a testament to our collective resilience and a cornerstone of our administration’s unwavering commitment to ensuring universal healthcare coverage for our people.”Your courage in the face of adversity has been the guiding light for our administration.
Your determination to return home, to rebuild your lives and to reclaim your future have been the single greatest motivation for our reconstruction and resettlement efforts.
We saw your suffering, we heard your cries for help and we understood that our most sacred duty was not just to secure your land, but to restore your lives” Kadafur added.
The deputy governor also said, there are still bridges to rebuild, schools to reconstruct and farms to reclaim.
But with each completed project like this, we send a clear, unequivocal message that the forces of darkness would fail and the light of progress, the sound of children playing in safety, and the hum of a modern hospital are the sounds of our victory.
He said the Commissioning of this hospital is a powerful metaphor for the entire Borno project as enshrined in our 25 year Development plan for a healthy citizenry.
Kadafur urged the council Chairman, traditional leaders and the entire people of Damboa local government to safeguard this facility in order to drive its maximum benefit.
He directed the council and the ministry to provide an enabling environment for the staff to work effectively for the betterment of the citizenry.
The acting Governor emphasizes that our development partners, including the World Health Organization, UNICEF and others present here, have been invaluable allies.
